When using the detergent, make sure to load the dishwasher with items that are dishwasher-safe, placing soiled surfaces facing the center and keeping taller items away from the center. Silver, aluminum, and stainless steel should be washed in separate loads to avoid discoloration. There's no need to pre-rinse your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher - simply scrape off any food and empty any liquids, and the dishwasher will handle the rest. If you do choose to rinse your dishes first, use cold water.
